Migration from MSSQL to PostgreSQL #
Navigator365 has transitioned from an MSSQL database to PostgreSQL. Our commitment to improving the system’s performance and meeting evolving market demands drove this decision. This migration marks a huge milestone for Navigator365, redefining our platform’s capabilities and paving the way for significant improvements.
First, PostgreSQL offers enhanced speed, enabling faster data processing and improved loading times. Users will notice smoother performance, especially when working with large data sets. Second, PostgreSQL’s scalability allows Navigator365 to accommodate a growing user base and data volume. Finally, PostgreSQL is an open-source database management system, which means there are no licensing fees. MSSQL, in contrast, often involves licensing costs, especially in large deployments. PostgreSQL can be more budget-friendly in terms of scaling allowing users to save on budgets for digitalization.
Login page customization #
Users can now add a background picture, a company logo, and an application logo as required. This can be easily set in the System application by adding attachments.
New main system fonts #
Another UX improvement has been added. Our main system font has been changed to Inter, which is widely recognized as one of the best to work on all types of equipment and improve system readability.
Data capture #
We’ve added an advanced data capture feature to our OCR model. Now, you can easily extract parts of the attached documents and add them to our document fields. You can quickly grab the text and have it ready in our text field, or you can identify specific elements in the text and highlight them in your comments. This feature is beneficial for longer contracts or letters.
Pictures in action Create PDF #
Once creating PDF files in the process system Navigator365 uses Microsoft Word templates. Inserting Merge Fields can easily transform any Word document into a template with data added straight from the Navigator365 applications. From version 2.2 users can add any picture to the template to create more advanced and better-looking files. Adding a company logo to an invoice or a company letter would be the most common use.
New conditions in Logic gates #
When designing logic gates to guide processes along the desired path, users previously had the option to select data from document fields or environment variables. With the introduction of version 2.2, users can now choose automated actions executed in previous steps as a condition and data from the configuration forms. This enhancement provides greater flexibility and functionality in directing processes effectively.
